Holy lateness

So sorry I have not posted any updates this week. I am now 8 weeks! We had an ultrasound on Monday, where I was 7 weeks, 3 days which we got to see our babe again! The heart beat was a lot stronger than last time, at 160 bpm. I was measuring only 1 day behind this time, instead of 2, which put our new due date at 9/10/11. How cool is that!? Anyway, I am back to work, still dealing with daily nausea and fatigue. I'm managing though. I just often see a bed time of 8 or 9pm. That's ok, that is what DVR is for! With that, I'll leave you with a picture. Oh, and no more appointments until I meet with my MW (midwife) at 10 weeks.

Lessons learned so far this pregnancy

1 - Cut off all beverages after 8am or you will be getting up 4-5 times a night to pee rather than 2 or 3. Makes a big difference in your sleep, I swear.

2 - Do not wait to eat when you're feeling daily nausea. Or, when you go to grab toast out of the fridge out of desperation, the smells just smack you in the face, and you'll find yourself sweating, dizzy and hanging over the toilet.

I'm so nervous to go back to work tomorrow as my daily nausea is just getting worse. What are your nausea and morning sickness remedies?

We have a beautiful heart beat!!!

We had our 6 week ultrasound today and saw a beautiful sight!! All the parts were there so far, and we even saw the heart beat, measuring at 113. I was measuring at 5 weeks and 5 days which is just 2 days behind, but there is no cause for concern. My ovaries are still huge though so I'll be going back a week from Monday for another ultrasound which will be 7 weeks and 3 days to make sure my ovaries are shrinking, and then I will be seeing my midwife once I hit 10 weeks!!

We are absolutely thrilled!! I never thought such a tiny thing could make me soooo happy. It makes my heart melt and yes, it is totally worth all those shots I did and have to still do.

Beta #3 and first ultrasound

Well, besides the beta, it was uneventful. We did not see a sac unfortunately, but it is just too early. The tech saw something that could have been where its forming, but nothing definitive. She did say my lining was excellent and my ovaries are more than 4 times their normal size, each. That is normal apparently for an IVF patient, with what we have already gone through. She said it will take several weeks for them to shrink back down. So, we are done traveling out of town. I will be having a 6 week ultrasound next Friday morning. We should see the sacs clearly by then and possibly a heart beat. Singular, because I'm convinced it is just one baby ;)

As far as the blood work, my beta skyrocketed to 1810!! I was expecting low 1000s so that was a wonderful surprise! My tsh levels also dropped from 5.82 to 2.34 after only a couple of days of taking the synthroid. I will still remain on it for the remainder of the pregnancy, but luckily, it looks like it is working and we won't have to tinker with any dosages. So that is all!

Beta #2!!!

259! It doubled perfectly :) I figured it had to be around 250 so I am thrilled with that. My TSH levels though, are high. My thyroid seems to be a slacker so we're adding another daily pill to the mix that I will be on throughout the pregnancy. Oh well, there are always worse things.

Friday will be our first u/s. It will only be 5 weeks so we won't see much, but I'm still excited!
