Sooooo we still do not have our official NT scan results.

Why is that? Oh well just our luck, the lab sent the blood work out to a different lab that processes it differently and requires 2nd tri blood work. Of course. So, my MW didn't tell us our results, because they are not definite until that other blood work is done. I finally went today to do it, since I was out of town and all. I let a nursing student take it. I am not sure what I was thinking however, I have a soft spot for students in the medical profession and felt bad enough to let her try once. Well, it was pretty painful. It went in ok, well too good since she stuck it in too far, then the person who was mentoring her kept feeling my vein to see where the needle was while she slowly pulled it back, lather, rinse, repeat. Finally they got it where it should have been and blood started a-flowing again. Phew!

While I was there though, I looked at my chart. Apparently for Downs, we are in the 1:4000 range and for Trisomy 13 we are in the 1:10,000 range as of right now. The new blood work could change that, but with the u/s turning out well, we look to be in good shape.

Andplusalso, I saw the weight from over 4 weeks ago when I want for the original scan and blood work and had to get weighed today. Up a total of 2 pounds. ONLY 2!! WOOT!!!

On the road again....

Seriously this song is the story of my life right now. I am currently in the middle of a 10 day trip, covering 2 states, 2 cities, and 2 time zones. I am exhausted. I am trying to sleep as much as I can, and eat as well as I can, but choices are certainly limited. I am at least getting some sun though! Better than in snowy NY :)

As far as how I'm doing, baby and I are doing well. Besides being tired and some stomach issues, I really can't complain. I actually am getting more and more excited. I think I have popped a bit and finally look more pg than like I ate too much. I am slowly buying more maternity clothes. Here is my picture at 15w, 3 days. Not wearing mat pants, but that won't last much longer.

So, here is a survey since I haven't done it in a while.

How far along? 15 weeks and 6 days
Weight gain/loss: Not sure, haven't been near a scale
Maternity clothes? Yes, still fitting in some pants but only if they are draw string. Starting to buy and wear more and more mat. pants. Still wearing regular shirts.
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep? Sleeping pretty well considering I've been traveling.
Best moment this week? The days without feeling sick, which have been more and more lately.
Food cravings: BBQ sauce, pickles, lucky charms cereal
Gender: Unknown
Belly button in or out? In
Movement? Not yet but I can't wait!
What I miss? Sleeping through the night without getting up to pee.
What I'm looking forward to: Feeling movement
Milestones: Can't think of anything except with the baby.... straight from the Parents website:
You may start feeling your baby move for the first time this week. There's a real person in there, and he's about to make himself known! Your baby is still small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but barely. He's growing fast now, reaching more than 4 inches in length and weighing in at about 5 ounces. His transparent skin is tinged pink as it adds layers, and he can kick his tiny feet and make grasping motions with his hands. His eyes are becoming increasingly sensitive to light.

Just checking in

I had a MW appointment on Monday which went well. We mainly were looking forward to the NT scan results, but apparently the lab did something they don't normally do and sent it out to a different lab that requires another blood draw in the 2nd tri. So I have to get there when I get back from my 10 day spring break/work trip before 17 weeks. Mr. W and I looked at each other like seriously, only us! Other than that, my blood pressure was good, weight gain was good (which I think was only a pound or two) and my urine was good, not showing protein or sugar. Man can I say how small those little dixie cups were they gave me to pee in? Oh man! Even Mr. W was noticing how small. Us women cannot aim like those boys!

So, the best part of the appointment, was hearing the heart beat again. Such a wonderful sound, and nice and strong around 150. We also got the order to schedule our anatomy scan! She asked us to wait until 19 or 20 weeks and honestly, even though they can see everything usually starting around 16 weeks, we wanted to wait as well. I scheduled it today, for the 18th of April!! Less than 5 weeks away and when I return from my long trip it will be only 3 weeks to wait. We cannot wait, but just hope they can see all the goods. I should be 19 weeks and a few days. Did I mention how excited we are???

Bumpity Bump Bump

Ok let me clarify by saying that I'm not sure any of these pics so far are really anything but bloat. IVF and enlarged ovaries and pregnancy bloat. However, I will share for comparison's sake. I'm still staying in the 3-4 lb range, so I haven't gained more than that as of today.

Here I am at 7 weeks and 5 days:

Here I am at 10 weeks and 5 days:

And finally today, at 13 weeks, 5 days:

I can't really tell much of a difference. All I know is the boobs are getting scary big as well. Yikes!

Oh hello second trimester!

Nice to see you! I think I am officially here despite varying opinions on when the second tri actually starts. Some say 12 weeks, some say 13, some say 13 weeks and 3 days. That would be today!!! This is set up to be quite an exciting trimester. Hopefully soon, I will feel the baby, find out whether its team hot dog or team hamburger, and much, much more. I would have liked second tri to bring me nausea free days, but hey, can't win them all!

To celebrate this day, I'll do a survey:

How far along? 13 weeks and 3 days
Weight gain/loss: Up 3-4 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope, my jeans are starting to get tight so they go unbuttoned.
Stretch marks? No new ones

Sleep? No issues usually. I can still sleep on my stomach comfortably. I've had 2 nights of some insomnia but ::knock on wood:: I have been sleeping pretty well.

Best moment this week? We saw the baby last Monday for the NT scan!! Got to see our little wiggle worm and it was awesome!!

Food cravings: BBQ sauce, pickles, lucky charms cereal
Gender: Unknown

Belly button in or out? In

Movement? Not yet but I can't wait!

What I miss? Wine, and being able to eat without feeling like its coming back up or forcing myself to eat so I don't throw up.

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling movement

Milestones: Out of the first tri!
