Yes, I know, Slacker Sue here
Soooo not much to update however I did fail my 1 hour GDD test. However, instead of jumping right to the 3 hour test, I am repeating the 1 hour test tomorrow in case the surgery prior to it had any affect on it. Wish me luck!

Oh hello there THIRD TRIMESTER!!!
Holy hell is this really here!? I am so flippin excited to meet this baby boy I cannot stand it! He has certainly made things interesting so far. Wednesday I had my gall bladder out. It went extremely well, and Brady did soooo good! The surgeon said that it was really inflamed and is glad we took it out, it needed to get out of there. Here is a crappy phone pic of me 2 days later. I do not have any stitches, its just purple glue. I am interested to see how I heal, however concerned that they will be extra big and ugly as I grow bigger and bigger. Oh well!
So, there it is. I go back to the surgeon a week from today and in the mean time have to stick to a low fat diet. Not bad, I can handle that. It is very nice to not have to dread meal time and have a constant stomach ache!
Now, onto the exciting stuff. Here is my last belly pic in the 2nd tri. I was being silly since it was surgery day, and had a non-maternity tank top on so excuse the bare belly!
And, now onto the survey:
*How far along?: 27 weeks!
*Total weight gain: 10 lbs total as of my last appointment, lost 1 lb with the gallbladder issues
*How big is baby?: About the size of head of cauliflower, about a 14.5 inches long from head to foot, and approximately 2lbs
*Sleep?: Wake up roughly 3 times a night to pee. Sleeping on my side only now which is not the best, but at least I'm sleeping.
*How are you feeling physically?: No more heartburn, and now, no more gallbladder issues!
*How are you feeling emotionally?: I was kind of depressed for the last week being in limbo with surgery, but today I feel great, I am in a fabulous mood and ready for these next 3 months!
*Best moment this week?: Feeling this sweet boy kicking after surgery and hearing his hb yesterday nice and strong
*Movement?: Yes, increasing all of the time.
*Food cravings?: Well this is on hold due to my diet. Still want me some strawberry cheesecake ice cream with rainbow sprinkles that can only be found at the ice cream place on the corner
*Food aversions?: Don't love the sound of chicken, but can eat it here and there.
*Labor signs?: Nope
*What I miss: PIZZA!!!! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can have some again!
*What I'm looking forward to: Hopefully passing my GDD test and getting that out of the way, last 4 week check up on Monday then I go to 2 weeks!

So what a week.
The week starts out with a nice relaxing day, good food with good friends, and then WHAM! My longest and worst gallbladder attack. 12 hours of hell. A call to my midwife prompted blood work and an ultrasound. The GI doctor I saw yesterday confirmed gall stones and thickening of the gallbladder wall that indicates that I have acute cholecystitis and my blood work indicates pancreatitis. So this all means, that I get to see a surgeon on Tuesday and most likely have surgery by the end of the week or early the following week. Bye bye gallbladder!
I ended my week with a recap visit with my MW. She is just so comforting, that I am so glad I got to see her. I apparently lost a pound, although I had just eaten before my appointment. I had more blood work done yesterday to check my liver enzymes. They all came back fine except one which was on the low side, which isn't a big deal according to her. She said that the baby is fine, and not being affected by this, however if I take a turn for the worse, that may not be the case. She said during surgery, the baby will be monitored by an OB, and this is very safe. I believe her when she says that. She said that my headaches and fatigue are normal, and that I should take it easy this weekend. I can do handle that! Until Tuesday....

Who needs a gallbladder anyway?
Apparently not me. Or at least that is what it is looking like. So, I may or may not have mentioned some gallbladder attacks in the past. Or what I thought were those. Never had an issue prior to pregnancy, however now I have now had 4-5, and the last one being Monday night and after 4 -5 weeks of no issues with that or not even a smidgen of heartburn. Well, needless to say, the last one was the roughest, lasting 12 hours and prompted a call to my MW. She ordered blood work and an u/s. The u/s showed gall stones and a thickening of my gall bladder wall. Not sure of exactly what that means but it doesn't sound great.
Then she called with the blood work results. One of my enzymes was at 242, normal is 15-115, and the other was 2,339, where the normal for that is 40-250. Lovely. So she consulted an OB and their thinking is the gallbladder may need to come out now, or risk developing pancreatitis. So, they have set me up with a GI doctor tomorrow, and we will all see what he says, then follow up with my MW again on Friday. Hopefully this weekend we will have all the information to make a decision and plan. I still have a ways to go with this pregnancy!
In the mean time, I am on a very restricted diet. I hate it. I can't find much to eat, and certainly nothing of good protein value. Hopefully this is very short term!
